Reports that the world has officially gone mad have been greatly under-exaggerated.
Consider this recent sampling of news reports:
- Russia Today ran a report on an Illuminati-Jewish conspiracy behind Hillary Clinton.
- Iran’s Fars News reported that an Israeli colonel is leading ISIS troops in Iraq.
- Bibi Netanyahu claimed that Haj Amin el Husseini was more influential than Hitler in coming up with the idea of the Final Solution. This was so bizarre than Andrea Merkel had to come out and remind everyone that no, it really was Germany’s fault. Not that Haj Amin was a good guy or anything, in fact the opposite is true. But please.
- Mahmoud Abbas went on TV and claimed that Israeli troops executed a 13-year old Palestinian who had gone on a stabbing spree in Jerusalem, as pictures and videos circulated of the assailant being treated in an Israeli hospital.
- An MSNBC reporter appeared on air and reported that an unarmed Palestinian was killed by Israeli forces at the exact same time that photos were being shown of the terrorist wielding a knife and charging at police. He was then, luckily, corrected on-air by the studio anchor.
- UNESCO planed a vote on denying Jewish claims to the Temple Mount not long after the New York Times ran an article that seemed to suggest that there wasn’t archaeological evidence supporting that claim, but at the last-minute the Arab states withdrew the language after a hailstorm of criticism and outrage.
Welcome to the end of reality, where facts have died a long, slow, and painful death, where anything goes and the truth is secondary to the headline, and where reasonable people bang their heads harder and harder against the wall. The scary part isn’t that people are just blatantly making stuff up, the scary part is that millions, if not billions, of people probably believe that some of this nonsense is true… and this is before we even enter the realm of the 2016 presidential campaign and the absurd claims being tossed around by just about everyone. I can't even begin to go there.
But I will leave you with one more doozy. When New York Jets safety Marcus Gilchrist was asked how he and the Jets would be preparing for Tom Brady this Sunday, he said “You prepare the same way you prepare for Kirk Cousins.” Cue the laugh track.
I hope TB12 gets some extra motivation out of that quote for Sunday's showdown at the Razor.
