The Kadima Band, An Evening of Klezmer, Modern & Traditional Judaic Music

The Kadima Band (“Forward” in Hebrew), specializes in playing Klezmer music, a musical genre that originated in Eastern Europe and came with Jewish immigrants o the US in the late 1880;s. Klezmer music is a combination of Eastern European sounding music with an American Jazz twist. The music is diverse and has beats and instruments that cross cultures. It is upbeat and gets everyone dancing. The Kadima Band is known for their music, which is designed to facilitate dancing with portable instruments such as clarinets, violins, trumpets and flutes. The band members provide an educational narrative about the music they play and involve the audience during their set.
