In the second of three TOS Talks, on Tuesday May 19th at 7:30 pm James Carroll, local luminary, distinguished Scholar-in-Residence at Suffolk University, columnist for the Boston Globe, and prize winning author offers a unique and insightful perspective on the past and the future of Jerusalem. How is it that the cradle of three main religions has been home to so much violence? And what might the future hold? The Jerusalem Paradox: Religion, Violence and the Path to Peace is the topic of this powerful discussion.

Bryan Stevenson, one of our nation’s leading voices fighting poverty and challenging racial discrimination in the criminal justice system will share his sobering but hopeful understanding of injustice in our country today. Bryan Stevenson is a public-interest lawyer who has dedicated his career to helping the poor, incarcerated and condemned. He is the founder and executive director of the Equal Justice Initiative, an Alabama-based group that has won major legal advances. He will speak about the timely issue of Confronting Injustice: Race, Poverty and A Path to Progress.
