Join us for “Israel 101+: Exploring the History of Zionism and the Modern State of Israel,” co-led by Gann Academy history department instructors Dr. Jonathan Golden and Yoni Kadden. This three-session course is a unique opportunity to understand the dynamics behind the establishment of Israel and its current political ideologies and future outlook.

The primary objective of “Israel 101+” is to connect participants to foundational knowledge about Israel and show how these facts affect key stances. Originally developed as part of the My Israel program for Gann students, “Israel 101+” is a lively interactive class based on close reading of basic source material, dual-instructor explanation and probing group discussions.

Each session also includes role-playing demonstrations by the instructors that bring to life seminal arguments between figures of historical importance and between supporters of conflicting viewpoints for the future of Israel and its people and neighbors.

Participants in “Israel 101+” should expect to emerge with not only increased knowledge and perspective, but also with a strengthened personal connection to Israel as it relates to their Jewish identity. If you are interested, please reserve your place in the class, as enrollment is limited.

Class dates: 2/27, 3/6 and 3/12.
